Summer Game Fest host Geoff Keighley recently conducted an interview with Death Stranding game director Hideo Kojima as well as Yoji Shinkawa. The interview touched on Death Stranding’s sales, as well as revealed the game’s PC launch trailer. Of course, the most exciting information from the interview revolved around the new features that fans can expect from the Death Stranding PC port.

The Death Stranding PC port has ultrawide support, a Very Hard difficulty setting, and Half-Life content. As far as the Half-Life content goes, it seems players will be able to encounter the Strider robots and get Half-Life cosmetics like a literal valve to hold Sam’s ponytail, as well as special designs for vehicles. It will be interesting to see if there’s even more Half-Life content hidden in Death Stranding that fans have yet to discover, but they will just need to play the game when it launches to find out.
The Death Stranding PC release date is July 14, so fans only have to wait until tomorrow to get their hands on it. Since the Death Stranding PS4 sales were reportedly not as high as some expected, it will be interesting to see if the game is able to reach new heights on PC. Furthermore, it will be interesting to see if the new content coming in the Death Stranding PC port convinces any fans of the game to double dip.
Now that the Death Stranding PC port is finally launching, fans will be focused on what’s next from Kojima Productions. Kojima is working on a horror game, but it’s possible that he may release some Death Stranding DLC first. Alternatively, it’s possible Kojima will look into releasing a Death Stranding PS5 port as well, though that is just speculation at this time.
Death Stranding launches July 14 for PC and is out now on PS4.
