In a Twitter post released by Kojima Productions earlier today, the studio revealed that because of its temporary closure due to strict work-from-home orders that are currently in place, the June 2 release date of Death Stranding for the PC is delayed to July 14, 2020. Luckily for PC players who are eagerly awaiting Death Stranding’s arrival to the platform, the delay is not that far off from the original release date.

The PC version of Death Stranding is set to have high frame-rate support and ultra-wide monitor compatibility. Furthermore, the PC version of the game will include a photo mode that wasn’t initially included in the console version but was later added to the PS4 in March. Additionally, the PC port of Death Stranding will also have crossover content with Valve’s Half-Life franchise, specifically a Headcrab cap that the player can wear in-game.

Death Stranding was originally released for the PlayStation 4 in November of last year and received mostly positive reviews. Players, critics, and other developers praised Death Stranding due to its unique gameplay and exploration of real-life themes. Players take control of the character Sam Porter Bridges, played by Norman Reedus, who is on a mission to reconnect isolated colonies via a wireless communication network.

As for what’s next at Kojima Productions, it has been reported that studio head Hideo Kojima is already working on a new project. Unfortunately, this new venture is still shrouded in mystery, but during an interview at the BAFTA awards, Kojima hinted that he is interested in making a horror game in the future. However, the Death Stranding developer also pointed out that he doesn’t want to make just any horror game. Instead, he is looking  for ways to use a “revolutionary method to create terror, that doesn’t just make you pee your pants, but crap them.” As of the moment, no one really knows what Kojima is up to, but given his work on Death Stranding and his canceled horror game, Silent Hills, the possibilities are just endless.

Death Stranding is out now for the PS4 with a PC version releasing on July 14, 2020.
