How To Play Wordle

Wordle is a fairly simple game with simple rules, but it can be very hard to master. There are not very many proper rules, but there are some hidden ones that players may not know, and these can trip even long-time players up.

The original version of Wordle is hosted by the New York Times Games and the New York Times Games Crossword app. Other versions are not the original. Wordle answers can now be themed since there is now a Wordle editor at the New York Times. This may have altered the word for today, since it is an official American Holiday. In order to play, many Wordle fans have a strategy for coming up with a good starting word. Great beginning words are five letters long, real words, and not proper nouns. While they can be used as guesses, players should avoid previous answers and plural nouns ending with S or ES since they can’t be the answer. Great starting words have a variety of common letters in them as well. Type the starting word into the Wordle grid and press enter. The colors of the letters are clues to the real answer. Green are right, gray are wrong, and yellow are right but in the wrong position in the word. Players have a total of six tries to attempt new words and get new clues before they lose. There is only one puzzle per day, and these come around at midnight local time based on the timezone of the player’s device.
