How To Play Wordle
Wordle only has a handful of rules to learn, so if anyone is new to playing, they can read up on how to play pretty quickly. Here’s a full breakdown of rules and a little bit of Wordle strategy as well.

First, players will want to head to the New York Times Games Wordle site or the New York Times Crossword app in order to play. Next, they’ll need to choose a starter word. Good beginning words:
Are five letters long and a real word. Not an offensive word, like the many removed from Wordle by the New York Times. Have a variety of letters common to Wordle puzzles and five-letter words. Are not plural nouns ending in S or ES; though these can be used as guesses, they cannot be answers. Are not previous answers to puzzles; though these can be used as guesses, they cannot be answers.
Type the word into the Wordle grid. Press enter. The letters’ colors will change to give players clues.
If a letter becomes green, it is right and in the right place(s) in the word. When letters turn gray, they are incorrect. Yellow letters are right but in the wrong place(s) in the word.
Given these clues, players have six total tries to get to the answer before they lose. Puzzles reset daily at midnight.
