How To Play Wordle
As a quick note: since Wordle was so popular in the early part of this year, there are many clones out there. However, there is only one original, and this is the New York Times Game version. The newspaper giant purchased the game at the height of its popularity, but not before the internet was flooded with copycats. The NYT version is the subject of this article, and other versions will have different answers. They might have slightly different rules of play, like the Wordle clone that only has video game answers or the copycat that gets players to guess larger than five-letter words.

Once players are in the right place, the first thing they will have to do is get a good starter word. Great starting words:
Must be a five-letter word. Should contain five different common letters, two of them being vowels. Should not be a previous Wordle answer, as they do not repeat. Should not be a plural noun ending in S or ES; although these can be used as guesses, they cannot be answers. Must not be an offensive word like a slur.
Once a good word has been chosen, players have to type it into the top row of the Wordle grid on the site. Press enter and the letters of the word will change colors.
If a letter becomes green, it is correct. If it becomes gray, it is incorrect. If letters turn yellow, they are right but in the wrong location in the word.
Given these clues, players have six total tries to get to the answer of the day.
