How To Play Wordle
Wordle may be a simple little game with few rules, but players will still need to learn them in order to play. Here is a rundown of all the rules of Wordle for those new to the game.

First, players will want to make sure they are in the correct place. The original Wordle and the subject of this article is the New York Times Games version; this is the original version which was created by an indie developer and purchased by the newspaper giant back in early 2022. Other versions will have different answers and can have slightly different rules of play.
Choose the best starting Wordle word. It should be five letters long, a real English word, and not a proper noun. While the answer can’t be a plural noun ending in S or ES or a repeat answer, these can be used as guesses. Starting words should also have a good variety of letters in it. Once a starter is chosen, type it into the site. Press enter. The letters of the starting word will change colors. Green letters are right and in the right place in the word. Yellow letters are right but in the wrong place in the word. Gray letters are incorrect. Players have six total tries to get to the answer before they lose. Puzzles reset at midnight local time.
