How To Play Wordle
Wordle might be a pretty simple game to play, but it still has a handful of rules for players to learn. This article not only includes all the rules of the game, but also a little bit of strategy for winning a first round of Wordle.

Players will want to make sure they are in the right place. The original version of Wordle is hosted on the New York Times Games site, and players will need to head their or the Crossword app in order to play it. Other versions will have different answers and may have slightly different rules from what’s listed here.
First, pick a starter word. This word should be five-letters long and real English word. While they can be used as guesses, a Wordle answer is never a previous Wordle answer or a plural noun ending in S or ES. Good starting words usually contain five different letters that are all common letters. Once a good starting Wordle word is chosen, type it into the site. Press enter. The letters will change colors: green letters are right, gray are wrong, and yellow are right but in the wrong place in the word. Given these clues, try a new word and get more color-coded hints. Players have six total tries. Puzzles are daily, meaning there is only one word for everyone per day. These reset at midnight local time. After the Wordle is done for the day, the menu will pop up on the screen. This menu contains the spoiler-free share button as well as the player’s Wordle stats. These include win streaks, total puzzles played, guess distribution, and more. This menu can be checked at any time by clicking on the graph icon in the upper corner.
